Kings County Busted Mugshot Records
A Kings County mugshot starts at the jail door. An officer stops, cites, or arrests someone. Paperwork follows. If the person enters county custody, Sheriff's staff take over from there. They assign a booking number, take fingerprints, snap the photograph, log property, and note the reason for holding. Every booking photo in Kings County traces back to that moment.
The paperwork also lives in separate offices. Police in Hanford, Lemoore, and Corcoran keep their own incident reports. The Sheriff's Office holds the booking sheet and intake image. Superior Court holds any case filed later. Not every city arrest ends in a jail admission. For the full story, the court file is the place to look.
A booking entry marks one moment in the process. Nothing more.
Kings County Booking Record Fields
The public All Inmates table gives less than the Sheriff's full intake file. That is by design. It shows enough to identify an entry. Medical screens, property inventories, and similar protected details stay out of view. Click through to an individual profile and more appears: arrest information, charges, bond, holds, and release details. A court case number can tie the roster entry to the court file that follows. Even then, the roster is just the roster.
| Field | What the public record shows |
|---|---|
| Identity | Name, person number, booking number, sex, race, date of birth, and age. |
| Physical details | Height, weight, eye color, hair color, and occupation on the detail page. |
| Arrest | Date and time, location, arresting agency, and booking date and time. |
| Charges | Case grouping, code, description, and felony or misdemeanor classification as booked. |
| Bond and holds | Bond type, linked court case, required amount, and hold details when present. |
| Release | Scheduled release, actual release, and manner of release when supplied. |
| Booking image | An official intake photograph may appear on the individual profile; availability varies. |
California Government Code §7923.610 spells out which arrestee facts are generally public at the time of arrest. Safety and investigation exceptions still apply. The statute does not open every internal intake field. Juvenile files, medical and screening data, victim details, sealed records, and protected investigative material all answer to separate rules.
When Busted Mugshots Appear
Photographs and fingerprints get taken during reception, once an adult reaches the jail, under Sheriff's custody policy. The county's Booking and Inmate Information gateway says the locator refreshes hourly. No official source promises a precise gap between camera and web. A fresh admission can sit at the jail a while before appearing online.
Keep search timing practical. Wait for the next update. Recheck the spelling and booking number. When custody must be confirmed for certain, call jail information at (559) 852-2812. Citations, medical delays, and events that never lead to adult jail admission may never produce a profile at all. An empty search is not proof that no arrest occurred.
Note: The hourly refresh describes publication cadence, not a guarantee that every Kings County booking image appears within the hour.
Busted Records Without a Gallery
The Kings County roster is plain text. No photo grid. No faces running down the page. To see a booking image, open an individual detail page, where the official photo can appear above the written record. Some profiles show no image at all. The design nudges readers toward careful identity checks rather than casual browsing. The official locator entry screen shows how the county arranges the search before any profile opens.
From that entry screen, the county routes you to current custody and recent booking views. Any booking photograph stays tucked on the selected person's profile.
Request Kings County Busted Records
When an older booking, a missing profile, or an unavailable photo falls outside the online windows, turn to the Sheriff's Records Division. The office takes requests in person, by email, or by phone. Countywide California Public Records Act requests can also begin in the Kings County NextRequest portal. One tip: ask for the booking sheet and the booking photograph as separate, clearly identified items.
- Name the Kings County Sheriff's Office and cite the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq.
- Give the person's full name and known date of birth, booking date, booking number, person number, and arresting agency.
- Request the booking sheet and the booking photograph separately, with electronic copies when available.
- Ask for a cost estimate before copying and request the legal basis for any withholding or redaction.
- For an old record, also ask which retention schedule governs booking sheets and identification photographs.

The request portal keeps a written trail. It preserves the wording and status of an inquiry once the online locator no longer answers the question.
Kings County Mugshot Request Fees
A booking sheet costs one dollar on the county fee schedule. No booking-photo price appears anywhere on it. Plain black-and-white copies run twenty-five cents per page. Ledger copies are fifty cents. Color standard or legal size costs a dollar. Color ledger runs two dollars. Want media instead of paper? A CD is fourteen dollars, a DVD twelve. Ask first. Confirm which charge, if any, applies before anything gets produced.
- Booking sheet
- $1.
- Black-and-white copy
- $0.25 per standard or legal page.
- Color copy
- $1 per standard or legal page.
- Disc media
- $14 for a CD and $12 for a DVD.
- Booking photograph
- No separate public fee is listed, so request an estimate.
One head-scratcher sits in the schedule: a $131 "bookings all agencies" line. That figure is an interagency booking charge, not a public price for a mugshot or booking sheet. A normal reproduction fee buys a copy. Nothing else. No deletion, no status change, no favored treatment.
California Busted Mugshot Law
California Civil Code §1798.91.1 targets the fee-for-removal trade. Anyone who publishes or spreads a booking photograph may not solicit, require, or accept payment from the subject to remove, correct, or modify it, or to hold back publication. The statute offers a civil remedy. It does not hand everyone a right to erase every accurate image. The official statute text lays out the rule that governs paid removal.
California's busted mugshot law aims at one thing: stopping removal ransoms. It does not promise a lawful record vanishes on request. Think of it as a guardrail, not an eraser.
Four separate routes exist. A factual error can be corrected by the government custodian. Arrest sealing may qualify under Penal Code §§851.91 or 851.93. Conviction relief falls under §§1203.4 or 1203.425. Those are distinct remedies, so never treat them as interchangeable. A publisher's verified free policy is a third route. Once the live source changes, Google's Refresh Outdated Content tool can update stale search results.
Recently Booked and Mugshots.com both publish no-fee removal routes. Neither is an official agency. Confirm the current terms. Share only the record URL and supporting court material. Remember that no verified free process exists for blocked candidate pages. Above all, never pay a service to dodge the California rule.
Find Kings County Busted Mugshots
Which official channel fits depends on what happened after the arrest. County booking data comes first. Move outward only when the custody facts demand it. An old copied image tells you nothing about who is in custody right now.
- For a booking within the last day, open the Sheriff's rolling 24-hour booking view.
- For the last three days, use the 72-hour booking view, which can retain release or transfer status within that window.
- For someone believed held now, search All Inmates and match the booking number.
- For release or transfer alerts, use Kings County VINE. It tracks status rather than photo history.
- For an older sheet or photo, contact Sheriff's Records. For the arrest narrative, also contact the arresting city police records unit.
- For the outcome, search Kings County Superior Court. A jail charge is not the final filed or resolved charge.
Federal and immigration locators are narrow fallbacks. The Bureau of Prisons locator reaches federal custody records back to 1982, though it offers no public mugshot field. ICE's detainee locator covers qualifying current or recent immigration custody. It has no photo function either.
Busted Today or Released
One official Kings County application splits current custody from recent admissions, and that separation is genuinely useful. The 24-hour page answers who entered the jail during the rolling day. Want to go back farther? Use the 72-hour page. It may show someone already released or transferred. All Inmates answers a third question: who sits in the county jail system right now.
| Custody state | Best Kings County source | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| Booked in the last day | Rolling 24-hour view | Not a midnight-to-midnight calendar |
| Booked in the last three days | Rolling 72-hour view | No official longer online booking archive |
| Still held | All Inmates | Released people drop from current custody |
| Released or transferred | 72-hour view, VINE, then Records | Exact web removal lag is unpublished |
| Court case filed | Superior Court portal | Newest filings may lag |
The official same-day list shows the county's rolling booking window.
The recent table gives identifiers and a path to details. The profile you click into is where an official booking image may appear, if one exists.
Note: The Sheriff's separate 72-hour media log covers calls for service, not bookings or booking photos.
Kings County Busted Jail Roster
The current Kings County Jail roster starts with a free-text filter. Search by name, ID, sex, race, date of birth, or age. Columns sort on demand. A page-size control changes how many entries display at once. When names run similar, match the person number and booking number before trusting a hit.
| Search field | Use | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Start with full or partial name text | No |
| Person or booking number | Separate similar names and admissions | No |
| Sex or race | Narrow a broad result list | No |
| Date of birth or age | Confirm identity with care | No |
The official current-custody view demonstrates that the list itself has no photo column.
A click-through profile can show the official intake image plus fuller arrest, charge, bond, hold, and release fields. What appears varies by entry.
Kings County Mugshots Mobile App
The public app is called Kings County Sheriff CA. Official descriptions list inmate viewing, crime reporting, public-safety news, and agency information. Grab it from the iPhone listing or the Android listing. Treat it as one more window onto current inmate information. It does not guarantee a photo on every record or that older bookings stay searchable.
A similar name causes real confusion. KCSO Connected requires office-issued credentials and verification, so it serves Sheriff's Office staff, not the public. When the mobile view fails, fall back to the official web locator or the Records Division instead of an unofficial copy.
Kings County Booking Alerts
Kings County VINE pulls jail booking-system updates every 15 minutes, against the public locator's stated hourly refresh. It returns current status, offender number, and location. Confidential registration adds release or transfer notices. Search by name or alias, then narrow with a middle initial, birth date, arrest date, or offender ID to separate matches.
VINE answers a status question, nothing more. It keeps no booking-photo history. Register through VINELink California or call (800) 491-0689; phone registrants pick a four-digit PIN. Even the faster refresh leaves the Sheriff's booking sheet, recent feed, and court file doing their own jobs.
Where Kings County Mugshots Appear
Start with official sources, since they name the record creator and the custody stage. Local news and third-party publishers can aid discovery. But they may copy an image with no hint of the later court result, and their presence proves nothing about current custody.
| Channel | Photo? | Status | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kings County Jail profile | Sometimes | Official | Current or rolling recent booking details |
| Sheriff's Records Division | By focused request | Official | Older or unavailable booking sheet and photo |
| City police log or release | Varies | Official | Originating arrest or incident record |
| Kings Superior Court | No mugshot function | Official | Filed case and disposition |
| Hanford Sentinel, ABC30, Fox26 | Editorially selected | News | Event context, not a complete feed |
| Recently Booked | Often | Unofficial | Secondary discovery only |
| Local Crime News | Varies | Unofficial | Secondary county arrest index |
| Mugshots.com county archive | Historical images | Unofficial | Old discovery lead, not current custody |
Recently Booked's Kings County section is active and updates often, while Local Crime News maintains an unofficial county index. The Mugshots.com Kings County section reads more like a historical archive. Every one of them can be incomplete, stale, duplicated, or flat wrong. Check the booking number with the Sheriff and the outcome in Superior Court. Arrests.org and Mugshots.zone candidate pages could not be verified, and no dependable Busted Newspaper Kings County page turned up.
The active unofficial county page shows exactly why copied arrest information must stay secondary.
This publisher is neither the Sheriff nor the court. Entries may lack the final outcome and cannot show present custody. Use the record as a lead, then confirm elsewhere.
Kings County Jail or CDCR
Two state prisons sit beside the county: California State Prison Corcoran and the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Corcoran. People mix them up with the county jail all the time. They are not the same thing. A fresh local arrest lands in Kings County Jail first. State custody comes later, and only after a sentence sends someone there. That is the moment a person enters the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation system.
For state inmates, use the CDCR Incarcerated Records and Information Search, called CIRIS. It works by name or CDCR number. A result can include the CDCR number, age, current location, commitment county, admission date, and parole hearing dates. Photos are not part of what the locator shows.
CIRIS tracks state prisoners, not fresh county bookings. If you want an institutional photo, direct that request to CDCR Public Records. Approval is not promised.
Kings County Arrest Dispositions
After a booking, outcomes live with the courts. The Kings County Superior Court public portal bridges the two worlds. It asks you to register first. Public searches cap at 45 cases a day, and the portal warns that brand-new filings may lag. That lag explains a puzzle people often hit. A recent jail entry sometimes has no matching court case yet.
The split in roles is worth knowing. Police list the suspected offense. Jail staff record whatever charges or warrant authority arrive at booking. Prosecutors choose the final filing. From there the docket tracks arraignment, amended counts, pleas, dismissals, trials, and sentencing. Tie the file together with the person's name, booking number, arrest date, and case number. For anything deeper than the booking record, the official court search is the route.
Want copies? Follow the court's Records Division instructions for the paperwork.
Older Kings County Mugshot Records
Kings County Sheriff has no published retention schedule for booking sheets or photographs. The online roster's rolling 24-hour and 72-hour filters say nothing about destruction. They only control what appears on the web. For anything old, start with Sheriff's Records and ask two things at once: the record itself, and the schedule category governing booking files and identification photos.
The California State Archives holds some historical Kings County government material. No transferred Sheriff mugshot series is identified in its county and city holdings, though. Treat the Archives as a lead to chase after a custodian confirms a transfer. Bring the agency name, record type, person's name, rough date, facility, and any booking or CDCR number. Third-party web archives hold no official retention authority.
Busted Mugshots Across Kings County
City police create the arrest paperwork. The Sheriff's jail system builds the county booking record once it accepts the person. The three city pages below keep those local distinctions clear.
- Hanford Busted Mugshots covers Hanford Police Citizen RIMS, city records, and county jail booking.
- Lemoore Busted Mugshots covers police press releases, monthly reports, and the shared county locator.
- Corcoran Busted Mugshots explains CrimeGraphics, its empty-result fallback, and the difference between county jail and local CDCR prisons.
Hanford and Corcoran each run a CrimeGraphics interface, with fields that differ between them. Lemoore takes another path. It posts episodic releases plus monthly reports. One thing holds across all three. Once an adult enters Kings County Jail, the county booking views can pick them up no matter which agency made the arrest.
